Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt (born August 15, 1972), known professionally as Ben Affleck is an American actor, filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter. He’s appeared in various projects with his younger brother, Casey Affleck. He began his career as a child when he starred in the PBS educational series The Voyage of the Mimi (1984, 1988), as well as the after school special Wanted: The Perfect Guy (1986), with Madeline Kahn. He had uncredited roles in Phil Alden Robinson’s Field of Dreams (1989), with Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan, James Earl Jones, Ray Liotta, and Burt Lancaster; and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), with Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry, and Hilary Swank.

Early credited roles include School Ties (1992), with Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, Chris O’Donnell, Randall Batinkoff, Andrew Lowery, Cole Hauser, and Anthony Rapp; Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused (1992), with Jason London, Wiley Wiggins, Sasha Jenson, Michelle Burke, Rory Cochrane, Adam Goldberg, Rapp, Melissa Rbisi, Milla Jovovich, and Matthew McConaughey; Glory Daze (1996), with Sam Rockwell, Megan Ward, French Stewart, John Rhys-Davies, Alyssa Milano, and Spalding Gray; and Going All the Way (1997), with Jeremy Davies, Amy Locane, Rachel Weisz, Rose McGowan, Jill Clayburgh, and Lesley Ann Warren.

With Damon he co-wrote and co-starred in the Gus Van Sant directed drama Good Will Hunting (1997), with Robin Williams, Minnie Driver, and Stellan Skarsgård. It was a financial and critical success, with Affleck and Damon wining numerous awards including the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
