Jonathan Lynn (born April 3, 1943) is an English stage and film director, producer, writer, and actor. With Sir Antony Jay he co-created and co-wrote the television series Yes Minister (1980-1984), and a sequel series Yes, Prime Minister (1986-1988), with Paul Eddington, Nigel Hawthorne, and Derek Fowlds; plus a 2013 revival series with David Haig, Henry Goodman, Chris Larkin, and Zoe Telford.

He is known for directing the comedy films such as Clue (1985), with Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Lesley Ann Warren, and Colleen Camp; Nuns on the Run (1990), with Eric Idle, Robbie Coltrane, Camille Coduri, and Janet Suzman; My Cousin Vinny (1992), with Joe Pesci, Ralph Macchio, Marisa Tomei, Mitchell Whitfield, Lane Smith, Bruce McGill, Fred Gwynne, and Austin Pendleton; and The Whole Nine Yards (2000) with Bruce Willis, Matthew Perry, Amanda Peet, Michael Clarke Duncan, Natasha Henstridge, Rosanna Arquette, and Kevin Pollack.
