Edward Fitzgerald Burns (born January 29, 1968) is an American actor, producer, writer, and director. He wrote, directed, and starred (or co-starred) in movies such as The Brothers McMullen (1995), with Jack Mulcahy, Mike McGlone, and Connie Britton; She’s the One (1996), with Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, John Mahoney, and McGlone; No Looking Back (1998), with Lauren Holly, Jon Bon Jovi, and Blythe Danner; Sidewalks of New York (2001), with Rosario Dawson, Dennis Farina, Heather Graham, David Krumholtz, Brittany Murphy, and Stanley Tucci; Ash Wednesday (2002), with Elijah Wood, Dawson, and Oliver Platt; and Looking for Kitty (2004), with Krumholtz.

Later films include The Groomsmen (2006), with John Leguizamo, Matthew Lillard, Donal Logue, and Murphy; Purple Violets (2007), with Selma Blair, Patrick Wilson, and Debra Messing; Nice Guy Johnny (2010), with Matt Bush and Kerry Bishé; Newlyweds (2011), with Bishé, Marsha Dietlein, and Caitlin FitzGerald; and The Fitzgerald Family Christmas (2012), with Bishé, Heather Burns, Tom Guiry, Ed Lauter, McGlone, Noah Emmerich, and Britton.
