Ronny Yu Yan-Tai (Chinese: 于仁泰; born 1950) is a Hong Kong film director, producer, and writer. Early films include The Servant (1978), with Philip Chan, Terry Hu, Michael Wai-Man Chan, and Kong Chu; The Saviour (1980), with Ying Bai, Gigi Suk Yee Wong, Kent Cheng, and Feng Tien; The Postman Strikes Back (1982), with Bryan Leung, Chow Yun-fat, Fan Mei-sheng, Yuen Yat-cho, Eddy Ko, Cherie Chung, and Kuk Ching-suk; The Trail (1983), with Anthony Chan, and Fat Chung; and The Occupant (1984), with Chow, Sally Yeh, Raymond Pak-Ming Wong, and Kit-Man Mak.

Films in the mid to late 80s include Mummy Dearest (1985), with Alan Tam, Bill Tung, and Pik-Wan Tang; Legacy of Rage (1986), with Brandon Lee, Michael Wong, and Regina Kent; Bless This House (1988), with Bill Tung, Deborah Dik, Loretta Lee, and Kai-Nam Ho; and China White (1989), with Andy Lau, Carina Lau, Alex Man, Russell Wong, and Ku Feng.

Films in the 90s include Great Pretenders (1991), with Raymond Wong, Tony Leung, Simon Yam, and Amy Yip; Shogun and the Little Kitchen (1992), with Yuen Biao, Leon Lai, Ng Man-tat, Maggie Shiu, and Monica Chan; The Bride with White Hair (1993), with Brigitte Lin, Leslie Cheung, Francis Ng, and Yammie Lam; and Phantom Lover (1995), with Cheung, Jacklyn Wu, and Huang Lei.

He made his English language debut with Warriors of Virtue (1997), with Angus Macfadyen, Mario Yedidia, and Marley Shelton. His other English language films include Bride of Chucky (1998), with Jennifer Tilly, Brad Dourif, John Ritter, Katherine Heigl, and Nick Stabile; The 51st State (2001), with Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Carlyle, Emily Mortimer, Ricky Tomlinson, Sean Pertwee, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Walters, and Meat Loaf; and Freddy vs. Jason (2003), with Robert Englund, Ken Kirzinger, Monica Keena,
Jason Ritter, Kelly Rowland, Chris Marquette, Lochlyn Munro, Kyle Labine, Katherine Isabelle, Brendan Fletcher, and Zack Ward.

Later films include Fearless (2006), with Jet Li,
Nakamura Shidō II, Sun Li, Dong Yong, Nathan Jones, Collin Chou, and Masato Harada; and Saving General Yang (2013), with Adam Cheng,
Ekin Cheng, Yu Bo, Vic Zhou, Li Chen, Raymond Lam, Wu Chun, and Fu Xinbo.
