Jason R. Reitman (born October 19, 1977) is a Canadian-American film director, screenwriter, and producer, best known for directing the films Thank You for Smoking (2005), with Aaron Eckhart, Maria Bello, Adam Brody, Sam Elliott, Katie Holmes, Rob Lowe, William H. Macy, J.K. Simmons, and Robert Duvall; Juno (2007), with Elliot Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, Allison Janney and Simmons; Up in the Air (2009), with George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, and Danny McBride; and Young Adult (2011), with Charlize Theron and Patton Oswalt.

He has received one Grammy Award, one Golden Globe, and four Academy Award nominations, two of which were for Best Director. Reitman is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States. He is the son of director Ivan Reitman, best known for directing Ghostbusters (1984), with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson. Jason is directing the upcoming sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), with Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd, plus returning cast members from the previous films.
