Christophe Guy Denis Lambert (born March 29, 1957), known professionally as Christopher Lambert, is an American-born French actor, novelist, and producer. He started his career playing supporting parts in several French films, and became internationally famous with the role of Tarzan in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), with Andie MacDowell, Ralph Richardson, Ian Holm, James Fox, Cheryl Campbell, and Ian Charleson. For his performance in Luc Besson’s Subway (1985), with Isabelle Adjani; he received the César Award for Best Actor.

Lambert best-known role is Connor MacLeod in Russell Mulcahy’s cult adventure-fantasy film Highlander (1986), with Roxanne Hart, Clancy Brown, and Sean Connery; and the subsequent film franchise series of the same name. He also played the thunder god Raiden in the first film adaptation of the video game Mortal Kombat (1995), with Robin Shou, Linden Ashby, Bridgette Wilson, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Talisa Soto, and Trevor Goddard; and later reprised the role in the form of an exclusive premier skin in Mortal Kombat 11 (2020).

Other films he is known for are I Love You (1986), Michael Cimino‘s The Sicilian (1987), with Joss Ackland, Terence Stamp, and John Turturro; Knight Moves (1992), with Diane Lane, Tom Skerritt, and Daniel Baldwin; Stuart Gordon’s Fortress (1992), with Kurtwood Smith, Loryn Locklin, Lincoln Kilpatrick, and Jeffrey Combs; and its sequel Fortress 2: Re-Entry (2000), Druids (2001), with Klaus Maria Brandauer, Inés Sastre, Maria Kavardjikova, Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu, and Max von Sydow; and Absolon (2003), with Lou Diamond Phillips, Kelly Brook, and Ron Perlman.

Later films include White Material (2009), with Isabelle Huppert; Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011), with Nicolas Cage, Ciarán Hinds, Violante Placido, Johnny Whitworth, and Idris Elba; Joel & Ethan Coen‘s Hail, Caesar! (2016), with Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and Channing Tatum; Kickboxer: Retaliation (2018), with Alain Moussi, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ronaldinho, Mike Tyson, and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. He also produced the French drama N’oublie pas que tu vas mourir (1995), with Xavier Beauvois (who also directed); the French comedy film Neuf Mois (1994), with Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Catherine Jacob, Patrick Braoudé (who also directed), Daniel Russo, Patrick Bouchitey, and Pascal Légitimus; and the Chris Columbus American remake Nine Months (1995), with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Tom Arnold, Joan Cusack, Jeff Goldblum, and Robin Williams.
