Julie Delpy (born December 21, 1969) is a French-American actress, film director, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter. She studied filmmaking at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has been nominated for three César Awards, two Online Film Critics Society Awards, and two Academy Awards. After moving to the United States in 1990, she became an American citizen in 2001.

Notable roles include Europa Europa (1990), Voyager (1991), Krzysztof Kieślowski‘s Three Colors: White (1994); An American Werewolf in Paris (1997), Jim Jarmusch‘s Broken Flowers (2005), with Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Tilda Swinton, Mark Webber, Chloë Sevigny, Christopher McDonald, and Alexis Dziena; The Air I Breathe (2007), with Kevin Bacon, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Emile Hirsch, and Forest Whitaker; Todd Solondz’s Wiener-Dog (2015), with Ellen Burstyn, Kieran Culkin, Danny DeVito, Greta Gerwig, Tracy Letts, and Zosia Mamet; and The Bachelors (2017), with J.K. Simmons, Josh Wiggins, Odeya Rush, and Harold Perrineau.

She’s co-written and co-started with Ethan Hawke in Richard Linklater‘s Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004), and Before Midnight (2013), and directed the films Looking for Jimmy (2002), 2 Days in Paris (2007), with Adam Goldberg, The Countess (2009), with Daniel Brühl, William Hurt, and Anamaria Marinca; Skylab (2011), 2 Days in New York (2012), with Chris Rock; Lolo (2015), with Dany Boon, Vincent Lacoste and Karin Viard; and My Zoe (2019), with Gemma Arterton and Richard Armitage.
