In 1719, Naru (Midthunder), a young Comanche woman in the Northern Great Plains who longs to prove herself as a hunter, comes into contact with an extraterrestrial being that goes after prey it deems worthy. If you know your Predator movie, then you know several attempt to kill this thing, only to get torn to shreds.

The movie premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, 2022, and was released by 20th Century Studios as a Hulu original film in the United States on August 5, 2022. The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised the action sequences, Midthunder’s performance, visual effects, cinematography, and the Comanche representation.

This movie is fucking awesome! It takes what made the first one a classic (a cat and mouse game on steroids) and gives it a very cool twist. Those bitching about it being woke are just upset that white people aren’t the lead character in a movie for the umpteenth time! I personally enjoy seeing other cultures represented on screen, and that’s not new in a Predator film.

Midthunder definitely has a career ahead of her if she chooses to continue acting (not that I thought she planned to, just saying). She brings a lot to Naru, often without saying a whole lot. The rest of the cast does well, but this is mainly her show. This particular Predator also looks badass! That skull helmet look will definitely be showing in on cosplays soon!

The action and tension are well mixed, and yeah the whole thing is shot beautifully. They should’ve just released it to theaters. Hell, If they decide to give it a theatrical release I’ll definitely see it. I would even watch the Comanche dub in theaters!
