America (and presumably the rest of the world) has become overrun by a virus that turns people into flesh eating zombies. Timid college student, Columbus (Eisenberg), teams up with trigger happy cowboy (and seeker of Twinkies), Tallahassee (Harrelson), along with scam artist sisters, Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin), in an attempt to find a zombie free area. Blood splattered shenanigans ensue!
Upon its release, the film was a huge critical and commercial success, earning $102.4 million against a $23.6 million budget, making it the top grossing zombie film in the United States until World War Z in 2013. A sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, would follow a decade later.
This movie is so much fun! Its super funny, the action is thrilling, the zombie attacks are over the top gory, exactly what you want! I’ve always been a fan of Woody Harrelson, the man has impeccable comedic timing and it’s on full display here; he also plays a convincing badass with a heart of gold. Eisenberg has great chemistry with Harrelson, playing the straight man to his more outrageous antics, but he still gets plenty of moments to shine himself. Stone and Breslin play sisters believably and they both have great back and forth with Harrelson and Eisenberg.
So yeah, watch it!
