
Bryce Dallas Howard (born March 2, 1981) is an American actress and director. She’s the daughter of filmmaker Ron Howard, making early appearances in his films Parenthood (1989), with Steve Martin, Tom Hulce, Rick Moranis, Martha Plimpton, Keanu Reeves, Jason Robards, Mary Steenburgen, and Dianne Wiest; Apollo 13 (1995), with Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris, and Kathleen Quinlan; How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), with Jim Carrey, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, Taylor Momsen, and Molly Shannon; and A Beautiful Mind (2001), with Russell Crowe, Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Bettany, Adam Goldberg, Judd Hirsch, Josh Lucas, Anthony Rapp, and Christopher Plummer.

She had her first prominent role in Book of Love (2004), with Frances O’Connor, Simon Baker, Gregory Smith, and Ari Gaynor; followed by a breakout performance in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village (2004), with Joaquin Phoenix, Adrien Brody, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Brendan Gleeson, and Judy Greer.
