Dolly Rebecca Parton (born January 19, 1946) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman. In career spanning 60 years and 50 studio albums, referred to as the “Queen of Country”, she is one of the most-honored female country performers in history and has received various accolades, including 11 Grammy Awards and 3 Emmy Awards, as well as nominations for 2 Academy Awards, 6 Golden Globe Awards, and a Tony Award.

She made her film debut in Colin Higgins’s 9 to 5 (1980), with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dabney Coleman, Elizabeth Wilson, and Sterling Hayden. She also wrote the title song, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
